Married to his beloved wife Nancy for over three decades, Steve cherishes their partnership and the joy of raising their twin boys, Micah and Josiah.
Steve's journey in youth ministry began in 1989, marking over three decades of dedicated service to guiding and mentoring young minds. His devotion to nurturing the spiritual growth and well-being of youth has left an indelible mark on countless lives.
In 1995, Steve took his commitment to youth development further by initiating sponsorship for FCA Huddles, fostering environments where young athletes could not only excel in their sports but also grow in character and faith.
Steve's involvement in sports extends beyond ministry, as he has dedicated himself to coaching for 31 years across a spectrum of disciplines including football, basketball, track, wrestling, and cross country. Through coaching, Steve instilled values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance in his athletes, shaping them not only as competitors but as individuals of integrity.
As an educator, Steve has been a pillar of the Kanopolis community for 31 years, where he currently teaches 5-6 Science at Kanopolis Middle School. His passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom, as he strives to inspire curiosity and a love for learning in his students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life.
Steve's own journey as an athlete began on the football fields of Fort Scott Community College from 1988 to 1989 and continued at Pittsburg State University from 1991 to 1992. His experiences as a student-athlete have undoubtedly shaped his approach to coaching and mentorship, instilling in him a deep understanding of the values of hard work, dedication, and resilience.
