About

Sam served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2020, navigating the complexities of military life both at home and deployed to the middle east. Originally from St. George, KS, Sam pursued a life of service and adventure, serving two decades as an officer in the U.S. Army.

After graduating from Pittsburg State University, Sam continually achieved success and rose through the ranks as an officer. Throughout his journey, he encountered challenges and triumphs that shaped him into the leader he is today.

It was in the middle of his career that Sam's faith journey took a significant turn. Amidst the demands of service, he found himself seeking deeper meaning and purpose, and realized He was being pursued by the Lord. And after renewing his faith in Christ and 20 years of service, he was called out of the military to live a new life of service, to the Lord.

Now, as Sam transitions from FCA board member to full-time staff, he carries with him the lessons learned from both faith and military service. With a heart full of gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose, he looks forward to serving the greater North Central Kansas community with FCA.

Sam is married to his wife Sara, and they are blessed with three wonderful children: Drake, Sophie, and Noah. As a family, they enjoy a shared faith in Jesus Christ, time spent together, and the great outdoors.
